I had done a couple of shows, and I was feeling good about it. This particular night I was thinking about how to create a life that was abundant with music, how to discover the depths of what I can accomplish as a musician, and how in the world I could integrate myself into a creative community. All of these things were running through my mind at a little brewery in Boulder, Colorado when I ran into Daniel Herman of MIneral Sound, a wonderful person who ran sound at a show I played maybe 3 months before. He said he had been trying to track me down since then and offered to record 3 of my songs on a real grand piano at a church in beautiful Nederland, CO.

As someone who always plays on a keyboard, I was so inspired by the elegant magnitude of this grand piano, and the way the songs asked to be performed, I decided to record the keys and vocals simultaneously and record them as the live performance would be.

The songs on my EP are my most personal, coloring in the struggles I had as a former addict, choosing the kind of person I want to be, and the void I had to enter in order to reach the other side. This EP is only the beginning of my musical releases as I am about to begin recording a full length album.

Track Name: Giant Ants
Certain I was right
Clinging to and unfinished puzzle
Screaming "It's Complete!"
Ignoring all the missing pieces

He closed the windows and the doors
The roof blew off
I saw the open sky
And I don't wonder why

Always striving to please
The queen and all her bees
Perpetually out of reach
Captured is the beauty
Held in their hands
Crumbled to pieces at first glance

My feet came off the ground
And I looked back
I saw the giant ants
And now I understand
And I smile at them
Track Name: Snakebite
Slowly moving downward spiral
The black is seeping in
Eyes are shifting
Truth is hiding
I'm the eye of the storm

Everything is fine
Then my eyes are bleeding white
We antagonize
Until he finally bites
Until he finally bites

Something calls me
Can't ignore it
The fly is circling
She tried running
She is losing
She's the eye of the storm

Everything is fine
Then my eyes are bleeding white
We antagonize
Until he finally bites
Until he finally bites

Shakes me to the core
But I can't shake this storm
Every single time
Everything seems
Track Name: Missing Parts
What words can change
When you're missing parts
When the ground shakes
And you're running in place

Without a name
It'll melt away
For heaven's sake
Don't you know your lines

Yellow laces growing from the ground
Meet the eyelets floating down the walls
Stomping faces staring back at me
I was falling for 100 years

Tattered clothes with rips and tears
And the spotlight shines brightly on your future years
There are missing instructions so you'll never know
It's opposite day so you'll never know

Turns to grey
In the swirling lines
And mirrored shapes
Fall flat in time

Shattered trees shedding in the cold
Resting silently on the dirty sheets
Open eyes reaching violently
In anticipation as the parts collide

Strings tied tightly to your hands and feet
Buried in knots but you're still asleep
Trapped on the vine but it never falls
The ground here is quiet but it never falls
